The People’s Vaccine is a coalition of health and humanitarian organisations, including Oxfam, Amnesty International, UNAIDS, STOPAIDS, and Frontline AIDS, who came together during the COVID-19 pandemic to campaign for equal global access to tests, treatments, and vaccines.
For this project, I converted the coalition’s Figma designs into a complete, fully responsive WordPress build. Given the scale and profile of the campaign, performance and reliability weren’t optional extras; the site needed to load fast and stay online regardless of traffic, so I built it on AWS infrastructure designed for both speed and resilience.
The Challenge
The coalition was running a high-profile global campaign: “Make COVID-19 tests, treatments, and vaccines available to all”, and had a finished design in Figma but no working website to bring it to life. Given the size of the organisations involved and the global audience the campaign reached, a slow or fragile site wasn’t an option. It needed to handle traffic spikes without breaking and remain genuinely fast for visitors worldwide.
The Work
I converted the Figma file into a fully responsive WordPress build, matching the design closely across every device size. On the infrastructure side, I set the site up on AWS to take advantage of its scalability and redundancy, so it stays fast and online under load rather than relying on a single point of failure.
